Games for the Braille Note

Does anyone know of any games that can be played on a braille note? I'm getting rid of my Braille Lite that had several games and I want to continue the fun. Appreciate the help.

hey, I tried looking for some a while back, but my countless searches were futile. Pulse Data said they aren't aware of any either. ttyl

I don't get it. They should really make some. They'd be really popular I bet.

oh most definitely would! I do not know why they didn't think of games as one of their first builds!

BN = Braille Note. And you're right, they should offer Hangman. They had that on my old Braille lite and it kept me occupied for hours, including in class lol.

I'm baffled as to why pulse data didn't add games. I guess they felt it wasn't worth the time. and if you think about it. fs never really made games, they endorced them and had a basic compiler that was written. I don't think it's up to pulse data to provide games for their consumers. Their product is a note taker. keyword being note taker. I think the main reason they made the mp3 player was for books and not music. just my two cents worth.

yep that's a good point Liam had I didn't think about. Everybody expects the package when all it was really designed for is the "note taking" thing. In saying this though, I still want games. People can play them on their mobiles. I wish I can! I really do! :)

Games for the braillenote would be neat though I don't own one myself. The Pac Mate is definitely viable for games since you can make a program that will run under any Windows CE device and it will work with the PM, and they have a very nice sound library for CE. This could probably be done for the Braillenote but apparently there is no developer support... it seems like everything that has to be done has to be done by PulseData which menan that noone else can make programs for it. I searched the site for developer info and came back empty handed. If anyone knows more about what the braillenote can and cannot run tell me, I'd be interested to know.

That's really too bad. Hopefully I'll see some pulse Data people in Kentucky this summer and can ask them about it. Yes the Braille Note is essentially a notetaker, but games would make it even more popular with consumers.

I only have to debate that point for this reason. games might make it more popular, but I can tell you that USB or ethernet or an updated OS will be the primary focus as opposed to games.

They are telling people they will be coming out with a sdk for the braille note, but that will probably happen the same time that people no longer want me banned on this sight.

first, Liam, quit being a wet blanket! Second, they are thinking about a SDK for the BN. Third, I think games are going to come out soon from what I hear

Post 17 by rat (star trek rules!) on Wednesday, 29-Jun-2005 19:22:07

plus, they have released a new BN now.

yeah, games for the braille note would be so cool, I've got a braille note myself, and a bit of welcome distraction once in a while would be appreciated!

HI all. I think games for the Braille Note would be nice since the companny said that the Braille Note could be for entertainment as well. Why don't you call a game developer and ask if they could make games for the Braille Note. Just to let you Braille Note people know, there is a new Braille Note called the M-Power.

Post 20 by rat (star trek rules!) on Saturday, 31-Dec-2005 12:06:51

news flash! In keysoft 7, the bn will now support IF games! Finally, games have come to the Braillenote family!

Post 21 by Tecsic (Account disabled) on Saturday, 31-Dec-2005 13:39:28

That's great!

yeah! I listened to a thing that talked about new features in keysoft 7, and they've got text-adventure games on it now. There's also things like FM radio (That's for the MPower though) and things like that in the new version of keysoft.

Post 23 by sk8kid (Veteran Zoner) on Sunday, 15-Jan-2006 9:27:45

Dang, I want a new braille note! I still have like 5.1 that I got a while ago. To have text adventures on it would be awesome! The packmate has games; atleast I think so.

Post 24 by rat (star trek rules!) on Sunday, 15-Jan-2006 15:19:09

I would want to upgrade to a MPOwer myself, but I don't have $2000 at all!

Post 25 by sk8kid (Veteran Zoner) on Saturday, 28-Jan-2006 9:02:27

Yes! My vision teacher is working on getting me keysoft 7, but it might not be for a bit.
